Automators

An automator sends a message on its own when something happens in your store — a cart is left behind, an order is placed, a customer signs up. You write the message once, and every shopper who triggers it receives it.

Open Marketing & messaging → Automations.

Prebuilt automators

Three are provisioned in one click during onboarding, and cover most stores:

Automator Fires when
Welcome on signup (onSignup) A new customer registers
Abandoned cart (abandonedCart) A cart is left behind — see Abandoned Cart Recovery
Order confirmation (orderConfirmation) An order is placed

You can edit their messages, channels and delays like any other automator.

Creating one

Click Create automator. Choose a ready-made template or build from scratch.

1. How it starts

Pick one — this cannot be changed after the automator is created:

Enter the trigger event name, e.g. onSignup. Some event names are reserved for internal use and will be rejected.

Choose an entry segment, and optionally an exit segment — the customer leaves the journey when they match it. Build segments first under Segments & CRM.

2. Delivery channels

Add one or more channels, and one or more messages per channel. Each message has:

  • Message body (and a subject for email, or a title for push)
  • Delay in minutes — how long after the trigger this message goes out
  • Destination URL (optional)

A typical cart chase is a WhatsApp message at 60 minutes, then an email at 1440 minutes.

3. Sending rules

Setting What it does
Allow multiple runs Send again when the same customer triggers this automator another time. Off by default.
Marketing pressure control Caps how often any marketing message reaches a customer — once a day or once a week. Protects your list from over-messaging across all your automators at once.

Click Save automator. Every channel needs a message, and email needs a subject, or the save is rejected.

Managing them

The list shows name, channels, trigger point, entry/exit segments and creation date — use Table settings to show or hide columns. From the row menu you can edit, duplicate, delete, or open Analytics. Select several rows to delete in bulk, or Export the list.

Analytics

Per automator you get:

  • Total calls — how many times it fired
  • Calls over time — the trend
  • Delivery statuses — what happened to the messages
  • User hits — individual customer IDs and when they hit the journey

Use delivery statuses first when an automator "isn't working" — most often the messages are being sent and rejected by the channel, not failing to fire.

Common problems

"Could not read the API key for the selected store" Reselect the store from the Stores picker and try again.

No channels available Connect one under Messaging Channels first — an automator with no delivery channel cannot be saved.
